In SC, one MD wanted $1000/month to supervise me so that I could write for medically assisted treatment. I have been certified for over 6 months in rural SC but decided the financial burden was too overwhelming. Therefore, I am an under-utlilzed resource to my community that already has a limited resources. This make no sense. The SCMA continue to be very strong and the BIG lobby continue to wield a lot of power that is counter to best practice and 50 years of conclusive data. The National Counsel of the State Boards of Nursing, the Federal Trade Commission, National Governor’s Association, Institute of Medicine, and many more support “full practice.” Even our own Vets that has seen amazing outcomes since they adopted full practice. Why is one profession allowed to hold another profession back?
